Pacific ethanol aims to be dominant on the West Coast.
Pacific ethanol is mainly focused on production of renewable fuels, there main aim is to dominate the West Coast market for biofuels. Their emphasis is on corn based products that are clean burning and therefore good for the environment. With over 20 years experience in the development of biofuels, this company is in a good position to meet the demands for alternative fuel. Mixing gasoline and ethanol together would comply with clean air regulations: Ethanol demand in the United States has increased , this is mainly due to the ban on Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether , which was added to gas to increase octane levels. Pacific ethanol realizes that ethanol is the only viable addictive that will ensure compliance with state and federal clean air regulations. Pacific ethanol as two production plant's that are situated in the following location, one is in the San Joaquin Valley which is a part of the Californian farming belt, this plant covers the West Coast ethanol requirements. The other manufacturing plant is situated in Oregon, and supplies the Pacific Northwest of the country. Pacific ethanol not only sells ethanol, but also sells other byproducts, although the focus is on corn based biofuels. The ethanol produced is used for many things such as a complete fuel, a fuel additive, and even a part of hydrogen fuel cells. The company is looking to expand and is thinking about building a larger production plant that would have a 420,000,000 gallon capability. Pacific ethanol has purchased and built a state-of-the-art storage, processing and grain receiving facility that as two rail loops that enable the loading and unloading of 164 rail cars at any one time. It can also store up to 50,000 tons of grain, and as a fully automated feed mill. This facility covers a total of 137 acres of land in Madera, California. |
