To unleash boundless energy
in your life alongwith good luck, health and prosperity, you must
consult the ancient science of feng shui. Feng shui is a powerful art
to bring vitality and energy in ones life.
Which makes people wonder just how much of what they hear about feng
shui could possibly be true. How can the art of arranging furniture and
de-cluttering your home bring you luck and wealth? Persons do well to
think about these things,
because there are of course
many out there who want to sell you so-called feng shui items, many of
which have nothing to do with real feng shui.
Lets discuss Jade as an example. It is commonly used in Asian homes, so
does it have those powers? How can feng shui and Jade change your life?
Lets review how and why Feng shui and Jade came to be associated. And
does it really work?
The History of Jade in Feng Shui
Theres no mistaking the fact that jade is a popular metal element in
Asian cultures, particularly in China. In ancient times, jade was
abundant, and because of its softness it could easily be shaped into
various forms, unlike diamonds and other stones which had to be worked
tirelessly in order to be cut and polished.
The inclusion of Jade in feng shui was much later. True Feng Shui
history does not teach the use of the element or claim anything magical
about it. Yet it has been valuable element in ancient China.
In the long history of the art and culture of the enormous Chinese
empire, jade has always had a very special significance, roughly
comparable with that of gold and diamonds in the West. Jade was used
not only for the finest objects and cult figures, but also in grave
furnishings for high-ranking members of the imperial family.
Jade and Feng Shui Come to the West
Whenever a cultural practice lands on foreign shores, it is very
vulnerable to becoming adulterated by contact with the new culture -
and feng shui was no exception to this rule. Unscrupulous feng shui
practitioners out to make money from as-yet feng shui ignorant
westerners would try to sell them on the healing properties of feng
shui - for a price of course. Jade was already associated with Chinese
culture in the Western mind, making it easy for newcomers to feng shui
to believe these hucksters. This cemented a relationship between feng
shui and jade in the minds of many in the West.
Historically feng shui does not preach anything about any such healing
powers of jade. It's not considered lucky as it was being portrayed in
the west. You could use jade in feng shui simply as another metal
element added to a room or as apiece of artwork for aesthetic purpose.
Jade would then work but separately it holds no such magical or special
significance.
