The sun always shines within - 2007/09/06 15:35
I was at the counter of a health food store recently when the lady serving me made a stark comment about "awful weather". The rain was torrential, the clouds were black and those with out a raincoat or umbrella were soaking. My true feelings surfaced as I replied that I found the rain wonderfully refreshing, cleansing and was thankful that we weren't experiencing a drought...
I notice that given half the chance, children will gleefully dance and splash in the rain for hours.
The dark clouds always offer me a reminder that the only true light is that within our hearts. Anything external only offers a reflection of that which is inherently within. When I see rain I feel the beauty in it all.
Whenever I have been disgruntled about something I ask myself what is it I am hoping to gain from it that I am not getting. We can't change the weather, yet we can change our relationship to it and see things from a different perspective.
There is a place within where the sun always shines!
