Re:constipation - 2007/10/27 03:11 I agree. That and the occasional glass of prune juice. Or as Lt. Worf on Star Trek referred to it: "A Warrior's Drink"! That's what I usually tell my wife I am having when I drink it. It usually keeps things moving for me.

Re:constipation - 2007/10/27 07:19 I get plenty of whole grains, fruits and veggies in my diet. I have no worries at all! Everyone should try it. If you aren't having 2 to 3 easy bowel movements a day, you are not getting enough fiber.

Do you have chronic constipation where the peristalsis is slowed, do you have gastric paresis?

is it just that time of the month that many women experience?

if constipation goes beyond 48 hours consider using something.
Senokot, mineral oil, suppositories. Chances are good you don't have enough fluid in the bowel to create a soft stool. This happens quite frequently to men who sweat so much in the summer.

OTC preparations are good and gentle and are often derived from oils and water attractors.
Using some' Natural remedies" can at times cause a major problem. As did one patient whose intestine tore when they took a natural concoction.

Make sure that when you do evacuate, that the following day you drink plenty of fluid. use a fiber bulking agent, like benefiber.
