Can cars be made semi-organic? - 2007/09/28 03:22 I know we are a long way from this and I may just be drawing from sci-fi. But it we could make a semi-organic car that could produce its own energy by photosynthesis, that would solve alot of our problems, wouldn't it? We would have to find a way to deal with the waste, but that wouldn't be too much of a problem.

Re:Can cars be made semi-organic? - 2007/09/30 07:43 If the energy were coming from solar power, we could simply use solar cells to take it. That is akin to photosynthesising and is already possible.

The problem with this right now is that it doesn't produce fast cars, and on a cloudy day your car won't go, so a dual power source would be needed.

There isn't a waste from this type of power.

Re:Can cars be made semi-organic? - 2007/10/02 08:48 Solar cars usually have batteries for rainy days. A battery charge usually lasts a coupleof hours. The problem is the surface area of the car has to be comparitively huge for the car to run at any speed. Solar cells aren't the same as an organic car though.
