Till I came here I didn't realise that biodiesel was actually produced in the manner that it is. I was more of the understanding that it came from waste vegetable oil.
So, that was an eye opener right off the bat! Anyhow, the issue with growing plants especially for oil is the same as growing corn for ethanol. Ultimately we will have a choice to make because replacing the fuel needs for the entire western world will take a lot of food growing land.
