Safety Issues - 2007/10/01 09:38 How safe is ethanol, compared to gasoline? Gas as we know is a highly volatile liquid and I have read of many fires and explosions caused by it.

Yet ethanol is an alcohol and as such is even more volatile, highly flammable. Are ethanol burning engines really set up to handle this risk?

Re:Safety Issues - 2007/10/02 08:56 I think I read somewhere that its safer than gasoline. I think they do have test engines that can run ethanol safely but I haven't seen any used in production. This will eventually come about but I think it will take a while.
