Re:Biodiesel form chicken fat - 2007/09/30 07:46 Yes, I think that it would be possible to do it entirely as waste oil. Just think about all the chicken products (processed products) that are made and sold each day in the USA.

Chicken nuggets, chicken burgers, chicken fingers, chicken lunch meat. All are processed for sale and that processing involves cooking-which would cause the release of the majority of the fat.

All that would need to happen would be for the fuel company to team up with the food companies to collect the fat from them.

I've been reading about this in the trade journals. Yes, it would be made from waste fat. They are currently throwing away millions of pounds of fat that's left over from processing chickens, so using it for making biodeisel is a viable alternative.
