My thought isn't profound, but a little depressing.
You see, there are only eight notes on the stave. There are a finite number of rhythms and beats and ways to combine them harmoniously.
There are a finite number of musical instruments too. What happens when all the combinations have been put together? How long until all of the music possible, has been written?
