Re:Benefit of thai chi - 2007/10/31 05:26 Just need to let you know that Tai Chi Chuan was and always has been a martial art. It was developed as a martial art and the health benefits came as a result of the consistant practice. Tai Chi was converted into a health and healing system aligned with Yoga during the 1960's when the hippies went over to Asia to discover there inner self. They came back with the movement but did not bother to learn the philosophy. Traditionlly disciples were trained in 3 art, Hsing Yi, Bagua and Tai Chi Chuan. Tai Chi Chuan was taught the senoir disciples who perfected the other two.
