The other side of soy. - 2008/06/11 01:07 I hear a lot of people that think if they don't eat meat then they can just get the protein from soy products. Soy products really are not that good for you though. Yet they are being consumed like they are going out of sytle. Soy products are VERY high in estrogen so if you eat a lot of it can mess up your homone levels. They are also made of of a GMO plant so there is an artiful protein. Like anything it is okay to have everyonce in a while. I'm sharing this information with you becuase I think it is very interesting and important. I used to eat a lot of soy and now im on homrome therapy to get my estrogen levels back to noraml. What is your opion of soy products? Any experinces like this happen to anyone else?

Re:The other side of soy. - 2008/07/03 12:59 Any foods you eat to excess can be bad for you. But I still think that you have to eat much less meat to becomes sick from it and you have to eat a heck of a lot of soy products to become ill from it.

Can you tell me where you have read that soy is bad for you to eat? I have really only heard lots of good things about it, from the news that eating it is good for you to the idea that growing soy is easier on the planet and the farmer and uses less energy to grow and harvest.

I'd like to hear another side. Do you have a site you like that would tell me your side?

Thanks!

Re:The other side of soy. - 2008/07/13 10:05 I was drinking soy milk for about a year until I foun out that it was really bad or you. I googled it and found a lot of sites that told you about the bad side. I didn`t realize it was doing anything to me until I stopped drinking it. A few weeks after I stopped i actually felt better. I drink fat free milk now.

Yeah this is just one site but there are tons if you just google it. http://www.the7thfire.com/health_and_nutrition/truth_about_soy.html

Not so funny story. My mothers friend and like my second mother was an advocate for soy for menopause. She ate so much soy everyday. A couple months ago she was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer and only has a few more months to live. The doctor told her this was most likely caused by fito-estrogen which soy is very high in.
