Cruelty against Animals - 2007/10/12 18:51 This is something that has always angered me. It's not fair (nor is it right) to treat someone smaller and weaker than you like dirt.

I've seen lots of strays with broken legs and with sores all over their bodies. It's just too painful to look at and I often find myself close to tears.

There was an article I read in the papers once about an American kid who put a kitten in the oven and laughed when it screamed. He later boasted to his friends about it, saying, "You should have it scream!" And do you know what? All he got was a warning from the court and something else (I can't remember what) and was released.

The kitten survived, but lost one leg and was badly burnt. Some kind family took it in and have been looking after it since then.

When I was a little girl, I used to bring the strays back home and feed them. I got into a lot of trouble for doing it (or you wouldn't believe how much I was yelled at) but I just couldn't leave them.

Even now, the seven cats that I have are mostly strays I took in. Two of them I got from a mother cat that died. She left four kittens behind. I managed to find homes for two of them by going from house-to-house, but the other two weren't so fortunate.

There was another cat who used to come to my house with plastic tied around its neck each time. I've also heard there are some very sick (not to mention, disgusting) people who stomp on kittens to relieve their stress. Their logic is because they are suffering, it's nice to see others suffer, too, and what better way than to harm someone innocent. Hah! Just hah!

I can't take it anymore! It's so terrible. I hope to one day bring justice to all these animals. I don't know whether it's possible, but I want to try.

Re:Cruelty against Animals - 2007/10/13 05:16 There are some shows on Animal Planet in the US, that profiles Humane Society Workers in several cities. There is one in Houston, Detroit, New York, Phoenix, and Miami.
These shows tug at your heart strings, because they show the depths that people will lower themselves to. It saddens, and in fact sickens me to see what people can do to dogs, cats and horses. I have always been an animal lover. My wife and I have 3 cats currently, and when we make some needed changes to our back yard, we will be getting a dog. Our cats have been spayed, and have their shots. I do not understand people who can neglect, or hurt their pets. I think people like that should be barred somehow form having pets. I just don't know of a viable way to make that work.

Re:Cruelty against Animals - 2008/07/10 17:01 This is something so disgusting to me. I can`t watch the shows or commercials without crying. I want to tae all the abused animals home and never let anyone have them. They are so defenseless. These are sick people.

Re:Cruelty against Animals - 2008/07/11 04:47 I totally agree with you 100% !!! And as for the boy who did that to the poor cat, he should have gotten wayyyyy more than a little warning. But I figure God is watching all of us and what we do here on Earth, and He saw what that boy did. The boy will have to pay for it in another way, God will deal with him. I've been helping/rescuing animals my whole life, and I will continue doing so for the rest of my days here

Re:Cruelty against Animals - 2008/07/11 21:39 It says a lot about people and us as a society when things like this happen. Heck we don't often treat other people well imagine what that means for the poor animals. I think society in general has failed in a number of issues like this.
