Is it just me? - 2008/07/10 17:27 I agree that something needs to be done in response to global warming, but all I hear are complaints about pollution and other human activities.

The thing is, even if we stopped polluting tomorrow, global warming won't stop. It is like a freight train...it won't stop when you put on the breaks, it's going to travel another 3 miles before it even slows down!

Shouldn't there be discussion about moving people away from coastal regions and other coping methods?

Am I the only one tired of hearing the reasons for global warming, but no solutions on how to cope with the results?

Re:Is it just me? - 2008/07/10 23:40 I think people have suggested some solutions but unfortunately many governments stand in the way. Big business fills their pockets and they know it so switching the flow of money isnt something they are eager to do.

Re:Is it just me? - 2008/07/14 00:18 I have heard solutions like lowering carbon emissions, recycling, and other things along those lines, but nothing about moving people away from the coasts, which isn't really a corporate issues as much as it s humanitarian.

I also haven't heard anything addressing the likelihood that the weather may becomes so intense, both in winter and summer and because of the increased energy in the weather system, that the types of homes we live in may need to change.

These seem like issues that corporations would rush to address, to corner a market while fear is building.

Has anyone seen these sorts of issues addressed?
