Should we go nuclear? - 2007/08/22 21:30 Do people think that the risk of global warming is high enough for us to turn to nuclear power? I am always puzzled by the environmentalists who are aghast at the suggestion. Do they really believe in global warming?

Re:Should we go nuclear? - 2007/09/30 07:32 I have often contemplated this as a possibility. I think that if we could learn to harness it safely that nuclear would be a wonderful source of power. However that is a very big if and this time I think that we have proven without a doubt that we are not able to do it.

However given the other clean alternatives I don't see why we should.

Re:Should we go nuclear? - 2007/10/02 08:50 Today's nuclear plants are far safer than Chernobyl. There were many warnings there that they didn't pay heed to. The nuclear waste is a problem but I believe someday we can just shoot it into space.

Re:Should we go nuclear? - 2007/10/28 21:16 Nuclear plants are probably better than using up all the coal and oil to produce electricity, but why the heck aren't they building solar farms and wind farms a lot faster instead???
