Are you curious why do people always question the realities that are beyond the boundaries of science and logic? Like for example, the psychic phenomena, do you wonder why people question the predictions of a psychic, but not the prophecies of a prophet?

Has it ever occurred to you, why people question psychics, but never question prophets? But in reality, a psychic and a prophet are quite similar in many ways.

Well, they are alike in most parts, but then, society does not put them in the same level, since prophets tend to be more favored by people compared to psychics. So is there really a difference between a psychic and a prophet?

When we look at this in any source, may it be books, articles, or hear says, a psychic is a person possessed with extraordinary abilities because of their extrasensory perception, or ESP. Meaning, they can do things way beyond the normal stretch, these are things like divination, visions, read minds, and a lot more.

Prophets on the other hand, have been existing throughout history, and they more commonly play a major role in religion. Although by definition, a prophet is a person who has been contacted by, or has encountered, the supernatural or the divine. They serve as an intermediary with humanity, delivering this new found knowledge from the supernatural entity, to other humans. The message that the prophet conveys is called a prophecy.

Basically speaking, the "function" of a psychic and a prophet are somewhat similar -- that is to help humanity. Psychics do this through psychic readings, whereas prophets do this via their prophecies. Aside from this, they both also have the gift of mediumship that allows them to communicate with those in other dimensions (e.g. psychics can communicate with spirits who have passed on, spirit guides, and guardian angels, and prophets communicate with divine beings).

Another fact is, both individuals can give us a better understanding of things in general -- about the past, present, and the future. A psychic does this through readings, while a prophet does this through prophecies.

As you can see, psychics and prophets do not seem to have any much difference at all. However, it is just how people view these two concepts, that gives the mindset that these two are different things. After all, who questions faith in religion anyway? But then, what people fail to see is that every person has an innate gift, that in reality, it is a psychic gift within these prophets that gives their extraordinary abilities as well.
