Gradually becoming one of the great new leaders in brain & mind technology is brainwave entrainment. Doctors in the fields of medical science, psychology, neurology, sound therapy, hypnotherapy, etc. are experiencing the effectiveness of brainwave entrainment in their work with their clients. Two of the more popular forms of brainwave entrainment are known as 1. binaural beats, and 2. isochronic tones. Those who have experienced the effectiveness of isochronic tones and binaural beats testify that the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual benefits of listening to binaural beats or isochronic tones are similar to the benefits one receives after years of meditation practice.
Binaural beats and isochronic tones are sound frequencies which are used for altering someones brainwaves from one brainwave level to another. For example if you listen to isochronic tones that are set at a relaxing alpha frequency of 8 hz, but your mind is racing at high beta level of 22 hz, the isochronic tones will gradually lower your brainwaves from 22 hz to 9 hz. This process is called frequency following response and it is brainwave entrainment explained in a nutshell. Any practice that aims to cause brainwave frequency to fall into step with a periodic stimulus having a frequency corresponding to the intended brain-state is a form of brainwave entrainment. This is known as "frequency following response" which is actually a natural phenomenon where the brain naturally changes its frequency towards the frequency of a dominant external stimulus. Although brainwave entrainment in the form of listening to binaural beats or isochronic tones is not extremely well-known it has none the less been gaining ground and will probably become more popular as we move deeper into the 21th century and people start looking for faster ways to experience the benefits of meditation while bypassing traditional meditation methods which can become tedious at times. Let us look at how brainwave entrainment and meditation relate to one another. Scientifically speaking meditation basically alters ones brainwaves. Different brainwave states are associated with different benefits and experiences. For example when your mind is racing, stressed, unable to relax or be still, perhaps caught in emotional turmoil, arguing, hating, bitter, screaming, or confused, racing a zillion miles a second etc., you are probably plugged into a brainwave state at the beta or even gamma levels. Binaural beats and isochronic tones accomplish the same purposes, but with this one major difference: the benefits that one reaps after years of meditation practice can happen a lot sooner if you get into the habit of daily listening to certain brainwave sessions that are designed specifically for training the brain to enter the alpha, theta, or delta levels. Just like meditation brainwave entrainment means health to the brain hence health to the body, mind and soul. Both lead the mind from a active beta level to alpha, theta, and even delta levels where massive benefits are reaped as far as rejuvenation, emotional cleansing (unloading of the subconscious), mental openness, and spiritual awakening. Imagine reaching this deep level consciously at least once a day. This is different than sleep although a deep dreamless sleep every night is very similar. (Too bad most of us rarely reach a deep level of conscious cleansing sleep " but that is another subject). Of course you probably already know about other methods people have used over the centuries for attaining to higher and more rejuvenating states of consciousness. It is all for the purpose of brainwave entrainment " forcing the brainwaves to flow in tune with the entrainment method used whether it be used for reaching the alpha, theta, or delta brainwave states. Basically meditation is made easy by means of the brainwave entrainment method of listening to either binaural beats or isochronic tones. In a way simply by listening to cds or mp3s that contain binaural or isochronic frequencies you are on a shortcut path to meditation, and to most people it is probably a new method of meditation altogether. It has been scientifically documented that periods of regular brainwave entrainment by means of listening to cds or mp3's embedded with binaural beats or isochronic tones can lead to an increase in overall emotional calmness, relaxation, deep inner peace, intelligence, creativity, focus mental clarity, memory improvement, raising energy levels, raising your IQ, and reducing stress. These are the same benefits one experiences during meditation. Ultimately what all this comes down to is that you dont really need to waste mental energy trying to figure out how all this works. You need to experience it and then see for yourself. Brainwave entrainment by means of listening to binaural beats or isochronic tones (embedded into nature sounds, ambient soundscapes or new age music " makes it all the more pleasant and motivating to listen to everyday) can easily fit into your daily schedule and you will begin to reap the benefits a lot sooner than you would have sitting in meditation everyday for the same amount of time. As a finale note there are companies here and there selling brainwave related mp3s and cds. Some are very expensive and come with programs where they only send you the first cd which you have to use for several weeks before they send you the next cd. By the time the program is over you may have spent a few years and a few thousand dollars on the cds. Other programs will offer you quality mp3s or cds for a couple hundred dollars. And there are yet others which are also high quality, but way more affordable for the average person. Choose wisely, do some comparing until you find what is more affordable for you and fits best into your needs. The Article Author: Before you buy any brainwave products online, make sure you check out Edward Crivello's affordable high quality mp3s and cds consisting of a blend of soothing nature sounds, ambient soundscapes, and new age music embedded with binaural beats and isochronic tones for brainwave entrainment. This is relaxation music at its best. |
