Energy healing is the art of helping the healing process by spiritual - not necessarily religious - means. Anyone who has ever prayed for a loved one has engaged in healed with energy. Anyone who has held someone and felt or willed for love and safety to flow into the loved one understands the basics. There are sophisticated methods for healing, and we'll touch on them here.
As far back as people can trace, we have used spiritual energy to heal. In every culture all over the world, there has been the common concept that the spirit can be used to heal. As part of the natural march of technology, this basic idea has evolved into different forms. Each is unique, but each can be traced back to the common origin. If you're reading this, then you realize that we are more than a physical body. It's important to keep that in mind. We are energy that is currently riding in our body, but it's not us. These ways of healing use energy to bring peace to the body, but they also work directly with us to calm our spirit. Each person will be drawn to one of the many styles of energy healing. Each person will bring something unique to the understanding of how energy it all works, the ups and downs of each system. The important thing to keep in mind is that even as each method is unique, they all arrive at the same destination. Some of the more popular forms of healing practice today are Reiki, EFT and Pranic healing. *Reiki is taught directly - not from a book - and is hands-on healing early on. *Emotional Freedom Techniques, commonly called EFT, is based on Acupuncture. Using a series of taps on the face and body, the energy system is reset in a way, and this brings balance. *Pranic healing is based in making sure that the body and energy system has enough fuel to keep working properly. If you're interested in energy healing, my advice would be to start by sitting quietly and pay close attention to your body. Notice how your clothes feel on your skin. The sound in the air, the temperature, the weight on your arms or face. Everything. The more you can recognize the subtleties, the better off you'll be. As for techniques, I'd say try EFT first. It's pretty user-friendly and easy to learn. Also useful in many different cases. Reiki may not be the best for getting started, as finding a teacher can be challenging. Pranic healing I would also recommend as it teaches you to actively work with and move energy. We all have our individual gifts and drives. You may feel drawn to one method of healing or another, or like me you may feel compelled to study it all. The one thing that will help most is to really pay close attention to the moment, and what you're feeling. Trust it. The better you get at noticing the subtle, the better a healer you will be. There's no shortage of areas to explore when it comes to energy healing. What you see here is just a drop in the bucket, and each path has much to teach. By picking a method to study and developing your awareness and skill in moving energy, you can benefit not only those you heal, but yourself as well.
