Need some help managing your Church's finances? The tough economy has many churches looking for ways to save money. To save money, it helps to track where the money is going. Your church can save money by finding some free church accounting software.

Fortunately, the Internet is full of sites that claim to be giving away free software, even for churches. However, sometimes these sites can be a waste of time. Below is a list of sites that offer free church software as well as their true cost.

The author has no vested interest in any of the following sites. The author is trying to save the reader's time by creating a synopsis of the offers for free church accounting software.

Churchradius.com

Church Radius offers some free, web based church accounting software. This software requires connection to the Internet.

Although you can't beat the price, having your churches financial information stored on the net may not be the safest route. In addition, sometimes web-based software has annoying banner ads. These ads are what make it possible to give the software away for free.

Sunday Software

Sunday Software is a great page; however, they don't actually manufacture and sell church accounting software. The site is well designed and has some good church resources. It also has fun resources for kids.

Churchtrac.com

Churchtrac makes and sells church accounting software. The software appears very user friendly. They even offer the software for free for up to 100 contributing members. In other words when you start accounting for your 101st member, they start charging you.

Churchbizonline

If you searched for the term (free church accounting software) at Google, then the first site you came across was probably Churchbiz. No offense to this site, but it actually doesn't offer any church accounting options. It offers Open Office for free, but this is definitely not accounting software.

Finding free software can be challenging. Hopefully this list will give you some ideas, though it is likely that you will have to spend some money to get quality software. Good luck accounting for your church.
