This article is meant to inspire artists and creators alike, on how they can use a process called resonance to create. We will illustrate this in our case by giving an example of how one can create music on the tantric Goddess Kali. We will start with a description of Kali followed by a short description of the process of resonance (which in fact is a much deeper law than the law of attraction) and end by speaking about how a composer can use the law of resonance to make his creations.
About Kali Kali is the first of the 10 wisdom Goddesses in the tantric tradition. She has black skin, four arms, open glaring eyes and a necklace of severed heads. She dances on the graves in the cemetary and laughs loudly and shrilly at the ignorance and attachments of us humans. She stands for the concepts of time and death, concepts which we humans fear and that is why she is portrayed as being so terrible. She is indeed a terrifying sight and if you do not understand death and time you will certainly be terrified by her. Her grace will be revealed to those who actively seek to understand her deeper meaning. About resonance Tantra teaches us about the law of resonance which is in essence the law of attraction, just more profoundly described. Everything in the universe consists of energy which vibrates with different frequency. Energies with similar frequencies will be attracted to each other and start a process of resonance together. In this process they will start to exchange information between them. We are continually moving through different resonance spheres during the day and our moods and physical well being is continually being affected by these spheres. If we are in a place where the resonance is "angry" we will ourselves become angry. If we are in a place with a hectic on edge vibe such as a football stadium watching an exciting game, we will for sure soak up that energy and resonate with it. If the place is serene and calm we in turn will become serene and calm. A specific resonance can be inherent in a color, in a landscape or in a room with certain people etc. A resonance is not confined to one medium. A resonance of desolation could be in a landscape, a colour or in a room full of desolate people. Music is one of the most powerful conveyors of resonance. To illustrate the point, if you listen to heavy metal for instance, the chances are likely that you will enter into a mood of anger, power, frustration and destruction. You will enter into a process of resonance with the anger and hatred of the people who made the music and the people who listen to it. Alternatively if you listen to beautiful music you will enter states of beauty and harmony. A very quick way to go into a specific mood or state in meditation is to start by listening to music which embodies that state. Music is extremely efficient in jump starting our desired mood. Resonance and Art To create an artwork on a specific subject, you have to study that subject. You have to find out which energies are inherent in that subject and you have to meditate upon those energies. Thereby you will through resonance start to amplify those energies in your own being. By contemplating on the object/subject upon which you wish to create your artwork and through resonance you will thereby become a better channel for the art. The resonance will impregnate the art and will thereby be conveyed to those who in turn contemplate the art. This is the secret to creating masterpieces. Using resonance to create music for Kali Studying Kali will bring with it deep meditation and speculation on the subjects of life, death and time. These subjects might indeed be terrifying for those who have not delved more in them. The music created by such a contemplation on Kali will very likely also convey a feeling of terror. This can be done by using drones and strong percussive elements. Also the minor tonalities from Arabia and India give an aura of mystique and danger. In the end though, Kali will lead he who contemplates on her to a deeper understanding of the nature of life and death which in turn will lead to a mystical opening of the heart. (These effects can be achieved by string quartets and melodic lines which lead upwards). We hope you found the article informative. In the process you learned about Kali, about the law of resonance and how this law can be applied by the artist who wants to make a piece of art on a specific subject, in our case Kali.
