The Sanskrit word Yoga which means union stands for harmony or balance between the body, spirit and mind - in that, it means a lot more than just meditation. There's probably no older system for man's personal development than this ancient practice. This age old science and philosophy treats the person by looking at him as a whole so there is the physical, the mental and the spiritual that comes up for making better and strengthening.

A Yogi is a male who is a Yoga practitioner and a female who practices Yoga is called a Yogini. There are six traditional systems of Indian philosophy and this is one among them which is the functional science of the body and the mind. It is a vast subject and contains a great deal more than just sitting around in a lotus position just chanting along in unison.

It is also very effective in back problems and posture related problems. People who have cancer practice this in addition to other therapies as it makes them feel good. Many feel that the best time to perform the discipline is on an empty stomach, before any food is consumed in the morning.

This ancient holistic system has many styles to it and some are given below: It is one of the four main paths of yoga where different methods help control the mind, senses, energy and body. It is based on a set of special exercises or Kriyas. Hatha Yoga: the main components here are postures (asana) and breath control (pranayama). Sahaja Yoga: Here the basic component is 'Self Realization' (kundalini awakening) that happens within every individual. The precision of therapeutic yoga and the foundations of traditional yoga come together in a heated room under the system of Moksha hot yoga.

It is very popular and it is good for health. Yoga has become tremendously popular and is considered the most rapidly growing trend in exercise. It is very gentle on the body which will help your to build up flexibility and endurance. Yoga is becoming popular among soldiers who want to develop their energy, elasticity and mental power. Therefore, it shouldn't be viewed only as a physical exercise but as a practice as well, which creates a much greater sense of inner harmony and well-being.
